Author's ReviewI absolutely love my Nintendo DS Lite. It's a great system for the price I paid for it. It can browse the internet, play downloaded games, music, videos, and even act as a personal information manager. For $129, you cannot beat it.
Pro's Screen - The screen (or, in actuality, screens) is crystal clear. The touch sensitive screen on the bottom works great, and I love the fact that I can control everything with the included stylus or even my finger. Included WiFi - With the included WiFi, I can connect to other Nintendo DS Lite systems around me and play games or send doodles and text through an included application called PictoChat. I can browse the internet with the Nintendo DS Lite Browser by Opera. Although it is a bit slow, it is great for quick checks of e-mail, weather, news, etc. Multiplay is also super quick and super easy. Expandablility - Thru a device known as "Music n' Games", the Nintendo DS Lite can play downloaded games, music, pictures, videos, and run applications such as Web Browsers, Remote Desktop Connections, VoIP clients, and even complete operating systems. Although some of these require a bit of hacking and playing to make work, most things are very straightforward. I had music, videos, and a PDA like application on my DS within minutes of opening the "Music n' Games" cartriage. Games - The DS has games that no other system can compare with. The games are simple and intuitive, yet they are challenging at the same time. Mario Party, YoshiLand, and even Zelda are easy to play, but keep you occupied for hours at a time. Games on the DS are much better than on the PSP. Game Boy Micro, or any other portable device since they can be controled with a touch of the finger, as well as with buttons. Con's The only concern that I can come up with on my DS is the need of more RAM and Processor Speed. However, the RAM can be expanded with DS Expansion packs, so the only concern technically is the processor. Still, I'm amazed at what can be packed into something so small. Conclusion: Get the Nintendo DS Lite. It's an awesome system for a great price. They are durable, scratch resistant (the DS Lite, anyways), and will entertain or hours. You WILL enjoy it. **Update** In response to the comment left, here is what I have to say. The games on the Nintendo DS are fairly decent, but it just depends on how serious of a gamer you are. Games like Mario, Yoshi, etc. are all very good quality. However, some games like Zoo Tycoon DS and The Urbz are fairly complicated and poorly made. If your not a "heavy gamer" you will love it. If you are, I'd say go with a PSP because the Nintendo DS will most definitely not satisfy you. The touch screen is great with most games. The Sims 2, for example, uses the touch screen a significant amount of the time that you play. You can use your finger to control sometimes, but then again you need the stylus sometimes. I do like the touch screen though, but I recommend a screen protector ($5.99 for two) to keep the screen from getting scratched. The battery life is absolutely wonderful. I get aorund 10-12 hours of gameplay and around 5-6 hours of WiFi connectivity before the battery starts to go red. I haven't charged mine in around 2 weeks, and I've had it for a year, so he battery stays in good condition as well. Any other questions, feel free to ask.
