Epinions I like Ico

by  ChromeKiller, top reviewer in Games ,  Dec 10, 2001
Pros: Graphics, gameplay, sound....
Cons: A major lack of story.
The Bottom Line: Ico is one of the best PlayStation 2 games available, even though there isn't much of a story to absorb.
Review: I'm very surprised at what Sony has come up with in the past. They've done exceedingly interesting RPG games, they've tinkered with hard and fast driving, and now, their new puzzle-questing adventure is set to show how the standards can be changed for ...

Epinions A Crafty and Stunningly Visual Game

by  annecal,  Jul 29, 2002
Pros: Stunningly beautiful, tricky puzzles.
Cons: Could have used more fighting, I didn't want it to end!
The Bottom Line: The visual effects alone are worth the purchase price. Give Ico a try- you won't be disappointed!
Review: Okay, this is my first game review, so try to be patient! I have always enjoyed video games, and as a gift, my boyfriend recently bought me Ico for the Play Station 2—a little something to keep me entertained while he was working on Soldier of...

Epinions Hand in Hand

by  sdgirl,  Jan 28, 2003
Pros: Beautiful graphics, sounds, interesting game play and characters.
Cons: Short lived wondrous adventure that causes you to ask for more.
The Bottom Line: A game of true artistic intellect, massive details, creativity, and a plate full of entertainment that one might not be able to stomach.
Review: The Day of Sacrifice dawned on the village as Ico, a young boy with horns, turned twelve years old. Unfortunately for the young boy, the villagers feared the horns on his head, believing that they were the source of all unwanted spirits and demon to...

Epinions Pure storytelling beauty.

by  JamesWong,  Dec 13, 2001
Pros: Simple controls and nice puzzles. Some of the most beautiful graphics ever.
Cons: Yorda, if you don't like the idea of guiding an NPC around.
The Bottom Line: Ico is art as a game. It's not for everyone, but if you enjoy puzzle games reminiscient of Prince of Persia, you need to try this out.
Review: While this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in May wowed people with the promise of new consoles such as the Gamecube, XBox and Game Boy Advance, I was trying to focus my attention on actual software instead. Behold, Ico for the Playstation 2....

Epinions It Takes Two To Tango, But One Has To Be A Horny Boy.

by  Pika312,  Aug 27, 2002
Pros: The amazing graphics and ambient sounds will suck you into this surreal world.
Cons: Puzzles and/or battles can get a bit repetitive, falling from 50 feet kills you.
The Bottom Line: If I could force everyone to play this game, I would. Ditto with Ico 2 when it comes out.
Review: Ico, (pronounced e-co) is definitely not for everyone. It's one of those games that come along every now and then, and can't be described in one category. Breaking new grounds and forming new mold is something not every game can do, but...

Epinions Ico - a glimpse into the future of interactive entertainment.

by  jordinfixes,  Feb 25, 2002
Pros: Unequivocally the game of the year. Breathtaking degree of artistic vision, storytelling, and technical quality.
Cons: None.
The Bottom Line: Ico is a special game of immense beauty. It is an emotional and cerebral masterpiece so revolutionary that it sets a standard by which other games may be judged.
Review: Summary
I have always disliked reviews that start off with grandiose endorsements. That said, to illuminate the importance of Ico as a milestone in game development, I feel it necessary to begin with some very broad statements. Ico is a...

Epinions Storytelling Gaming Perfection

by  billservo,  Nov 4, 2002
Pros: Absolutely fluid storytelling and gameplay. An emotional and compelling journey in a puzzle game.
Cons: Slightly annoying camera work.
The Bottom Line: Games like Ico just don't exist. Equally perfect storytelling, visuals, sound, and gameplay. There's a reason it was nominated for Game of the Year.
Review: Puzzle games are hard to dress up. Even the best puzzle games never get the respect or attention they deserve. And while Ico certainly isn't the kind of game everyone imagines when they hear me say puzzle, it's a game more deserving of a second look...

Epinions A Thinking Person's Game

by  cjanson,  Oct 22, 2003
Pros: Extraordinary atmospherics, great game play, even pacing, and great puzzles
Cons: The Smoke Men can be a little annoying as challenges.
The Bottom Line: Strong graphics, excellent physics engine and consistent flow and intricacy of game play combine to make this game one of the best I have ever played.
Review: Let's get the bad out of the way. This will not go down as a game that is the hardest in the world or most challenging. There. It's done. Hardness is not the object of this game. It is the challenge of finding the key to the puzzles for each step I ...

Epinions Ico- The First Art House Game

by  chowyun21,  Jun 25, 2002
Pros: A gaming experience like no other.
Cons: It's a little on the short side.
The Bottom Line: Although it's short, Ico makes up for by being spectacular in every other area. This is a game that you'll remember for the rest of your life.
Review: Ico is a controversial title. Not for content, but for it's praise. Some people call it one of the best games of all time, while others call it a waste of time. One thing is for sure though, you have to play this game.

The story goes like...

Epinions Gaming at a whole new level!

by  kitkaroo,  May 2, 2003
Pros: Fantastic graphics, great story, the puzzles keep you thinking, the list goes on! MUST HAVE!
Cons: It did freeze up sometimes - you know how annoying that can be!
The Bottom Line: I strongly recommend you add this game to your collection! I found the story, graphics, and puzzles to be well worth the time and money spent on this game!
Review: I found this game totally addicting. As soon as I started the game I did not want to stop playing! The graphics truly show off what a PS2 can really do. Even the background scenery is amazing. I enjoyed all of the puzzles. You get to experience all...
