Author's ReviewCivilization IV scored Game of the Year in 2005, now Sid Meier has done it again, beating the high standards set up by Civilization IV, Civilization IV Beyond the Sword is one of the best Civilization Games out there, and myself as a longtime Civilization fan, this game does not disappoint.
You start from the Ancient ages up into the future times, using forbidden technologies such as cloning, in the future age, now, I'm not going to spoil all of these but all I can say it's a built in modification from the company them self. It also allows Colonies, but you should only liberate a city into a colony if your maintenance level on your own Continent is higher then it should be. The leaders look as realistic as they can be, great leaders such as Lincoln, Augustus Caesar and Genghis Khan make an appearance in this game. The Civilization series has gone up from 2D units on 2D terrain, to 3D units on 2D terrain now it's fully 3D, with more control over your civilization then given before. There's also Random events that happen in game that either help or hinder your progress, such as dormant Volcano's suddenly becoming active, to Oil for your Civilization becoming better as to support 15 free units you build.
